Dear Art Teachers,
From September 20-November 9, 2019, the travelling exhibit, “Voices of Conscience” will be displayed at the Mennonite Heritage Centre Gallery, which is located on the campus of the Canadian Mennonite University. The exhibit prominently features the story of the Hofer brothers, whose death in military custody prompted Hutterite migration to Canada in 1918.
While the exhibit is in town, the Mennonite Heritage Centre Gallery will also be featuring artwork from Hutterite students (see the attached poster). While the attached poster emphasizes a connection to peace, contributions can include any art made by Hutterites students depicting their life and experiences. Please consider submitting your students’ artwork for this exhibit.
Visiting the gallery to tour the exhibit and artwork will make for an excellent field trip opportunity, especially for Middle and High school students and adults. Admission is free.
Individual artwork should be framed or mounted for best presentation. Group projects need not to be framed. Please send artwork to Jesse at Silverwinds or Serena at Fairholme or dropped off at MHCGallery by June 28th.
Please contact Serena Maendel (firstname.lastname@example.org) to indicate your interest in submitting artwork or if you have any further questions.
